October is National Women’s Small Business Month. For Neat and Repeat Cleaning, it marks 35 years of a business started by one woman in Stuart and now run by two generations of her family.
Rhonda Leon started the company in January 1991. She was a medical tech in a doctor’s office in Stuart. When the office’s cleaning company went on vacation, she offered to take over. She loved the work. Soon she had clients across Stuart, Palm City, Sewall’s Point, Jensen Beach, Rio, and Hobe Sound.
“I never planned to start a company. I just liked doing the work right. Thirty-five years later, I get to watch my daughter do the same thing for families in the Palm Beaches,” said Rhonda Leon, founder of Neat and Repeat Cleaning.
Her daughter, Rachel Duffie, grew up in the business. At 15, she spent her summers on construction cleanups, saving money for her first car. After studying business management at Florida State University, she opened the company’s Palm Beach Gardens branch in 2012.
Rhonda is a third-generation Stuart local. Rachel is fourth generation. Some clients have trusted the family for more than 25 years.
For years, the two branches went by Custom Cleaning of the Treasure Coast and Custom Cleaning of the Palm Beaches. Today they share one name, Neat and Repeat Cleaning. The way the family runs things has not changed.
It starts with hiring. The company reviews about 500 applicants for every cleaner it brings on. Every cleaner is a W-2 employee, not a contractor or gig worker. Each one is background-checked, bonded, and insured, with Workers’ Comp. Each earns the ISSA Professional House Cleaning Certification before the first visit.
Clients get the same two-person team every visit. Teams use up to a 6-foot ladder, so ceiling fans, top shelves, and crown molding get cleaned too. A manager stops by jobs to check the work in person. If something is missed, clients can call within 24 hours and the team comes back to fix it. There are no long-term contracts.
At Neat & Repeat Cleaning, we use pH-neutral cleaning products that are gentle on marble, natural stone, and sealed wood surfaces. These products are safe for use around children and pets, so you can enjoy a clean home with peace of mind.
“I grew up watching my mom run this business and seeing how much she genuinely cared about every customer and every detail. That’s always stuck with me, and it’s still how we do things today. We send consistent teams, we check our work, and we make sure our customers feel taken care of from start to finish. That level of care has always been at the heart of our business,” said Rachel Duffie, who leads the Palm Beaches branch.
Some clients turn to Neat and Repeat Cleaning when a trusted housekeeper retires or moves away, sometimes after caring for their home for 10 or 20 years. Others are seeking a better experience after a previous cleaning service fell short of expectations. Whatever brings them to Neat & Repeat, most share the same priority: a familiar, professional cleaning team they know and trust in their home.
Today the Stuart office provides house cleaning in Stuart and across the Treasure Coast. That includes Palm City, Jensen Beach, Hobe Sound and Sewall’s Point. Teams work in gated and golf communities such as Sailfish Point, Cobblestone and Palm Cove Golf & Yacht Club. Many clients split the year between two homes, so the team also does open-up and close-down cleans for people who live here part of the year.
The Palm Beaches office provides house cleaning in Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, North Palm Beach, and nearby towns. Its teams clean homes in communities such as Old Palm, Lost Tree and Avenir.
