From One Trailer to Four Trucks, the Long Island Company Marks a Decade of Growth, Customer Relationships, and Energy-Efficient Construction
OCEANSIDE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / June 8, 2026 / Spray Foam Insulation USA is celebrating 10 years in business after growing from a small local startup into a multi-service insulation company serving homeowners, contractors, developers, and commercial clients across the Tri-State area.
Founded in 2015 by construction veteran Jake Herman, the company began with one trailer and a small set of equipment. Today, the business operates four trucks and handles residential, commercial, marine, and industrial insulation projects throughout New York and neighboring states.
The company specializes in open-cell and closed-cell spray foam insulation, soundproofing systems, Monoglass installations, and Rockwool insulation systems.
“We started with one trailer and just kept building one job at a time,” said Herman. “There was no shortcut. You show up, you do good work, and you build relationships.”
Before launching the business, Herman spent nearly 20 years working in construction. During that time, he saw firsthand how poor insulation affected buildings, energy costs, and homeowner comfort. He also saw how frustrating construction projects could become when communication and service broke down.
That experience helped shape the company’s approach.
“The goal was always simple,” Herman said. “People should feel comfortable working with us. They should feel like everything is handled properly from start to finish.”
Over the last decade, demand for energy-efficient insulation has increased significantly as homeowners and businesses look for ways to lower heating and cooling costs. Spray foam insulation has become especially popular because it helps seal air leaks while improving temperature control inside buildings.
Spray Foam Insulation USA says many customers notice immediate differences after installation, especially in older homes throughout Long Island and Nassau County.
“We walk into homes where one room feels freezing and another feels like a sauna,” Herman said. “Sometimes you can feel cold air coming through outlets or gaps in the attic. Once the house is sealed correctly, everything changes.”
The company’s growth mirrors larger trends within the construction and energy-efficiency industries. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, heating and cooling account for a major portion of home energy use, and poor insulation contributes to wasted energy year-round.
Herman says customer education became a major part of the business as more homeowners started asking questions about energy savings, comfort, and long-term building performance.
“People are more informed now,” he said. “They want to know how their house works. They want lower utility bills, but they also want their home to feel comfortable every day.”
While the company has expanded steadily, Herman says growth was never about scaling too fast.
“You set small goals,” he said. “Maybe it’s another truck. Maybe it’s another area you service. Slow growth can be healthier because you learn as you go.”
The company now works with a wide range of clients across the region, including homeowners, contractors, developers, and commercial property owners. Projects range from small residential upgrades to large industrial applications.
Despite the expansion, Herman says the company still operates with the same mindset it had during the early years.
“Construction is hard,” he said. “Schedules shift. Problems happen. Pressure builds. But you keep showing up and getting the job done.”
Customer loyalty remains one of the company’s biggest priorities. Herman says repeat business and referrals have played a major role in the company’s success over the past decade.
“Success to me is when customers trust you enough to call you again or recommend you to family and friends,” he said. “That means more than anything.”
The company also continues to emphasize energy efficiency and sustainability as part of its long-term mission.
“Our goal is to help make homes and buildings more comfortable while helping create a greener environment,” Herman said. “That’s something we believe in.”
As Spray Foam Insulation USA marks its 10-year milestone, Herman says he remains focused on continued improvement while staying grounded in the values that helped build the business.
“One day you’re up, one day you’re down,” he said. “You just keep learning, keep working, and keep moving forward.”
