Outdoor presentation celebrates Caribbean design with international runway coverage and a public platform in New York
NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Caribbean Fashion Collective (CFC) brought Caribbean design to the streets of Manhattan on Thursday, September 10, with its Spring/Summer 2027 New York Fashion Week showcase. Powered by CFC Foundation and presented in collaboration with the Meatpacking District, the outdoor runway on Little West 12th Street connected participating designers with industry guests and public audiences in a shared celebration of contemporary Caribbean fashion.
The showcase featured Rêve Jewellery, Kudos Designs by Gaynelder Grazette, FLUID COVENANT by Benji Vanderpump, and THE LOST TRIBE. Bringing distinct creative voices together on one runway, the presentation reinforced CFC’s commitment to expanding visibility for Caribbean designers while giving each brand space to express its own identity.
Runway coverage has already appeared in The Impression, Harper’s Bazaar France, ELLE Spain, and FashionNetwork. These galleries extend the presentation’s reach beyond the runway, giving international audiences an opportunity to discover the designers and their work.
The Meatpacking District collaboration placed Caribbean creativity within the neighborhood’s public cultural programming. The show formed part of the season’s final VIBES event, bringing fashion to the same cobblestone street that hosts music and community gatherings. Public viewing alongside invited seating allowed New Yorkers and visitors to experience the presentation and encounter designers they might otherwise have missed.
“Fashion has long been part of the Meatpacking District’s creative identity, and we were proud to welcome the Caribbean Fashion Collective during New York Fashion Week,” said Jeffrey LeFrancois, Executive Director of the Meatpacking District Management Association. “This showcase brought culture, craftsmanship and fresh creative perspectives to the neighborhood’s streets, which is exactly the kind of dynamic experience that makes the neighborhood a place for inspiration and connection.”
CFC extends special recognition to the entire Meatpacking District team for its collaboration and support in bringing the showcase to life. By helping create a public stage for participating designers, the team opened doors for Caribbean talent to connect with New York audiences. That work reflects an approach visible across the district’s programming, including VIBES on Little West 12th and free Movies on the Cobbles screenings with Rooftop Films, which bring cultural experiences into neighborhood streets and plazas.
CFC also recognizes T McDonald Cosmetics, the showcase’s exclusive makeup partner, and The Makeup Center for their contributions to the runway beauty. Their teams, together with the participating makeup artists and hairstylists, brought skill and care to the preparation of the models and supported the designers’ presentations.
Led by Founder and CEO Xavier Walker, alongside Co-Founders Norka Vasquez and Stewella Daville, the production was made possible through the dedication of the entire CFC team. CFC acknowledges Model Coordinator Matthieu Guillot, its production and backstage teams, models, creative collaborators, and volunteers for the work that carried the showcase from preparation through the final runway walk.
The SS27 presentation advances CFC’s ongoing work to connect Caribbean creative talent with wider audiences and industry opportunities. The collaboration demonstrates how public programming and fashion production can work together to give designers a visible platform within New York’s cultural life.
